Internships

St. Christopher’s offers a variety of internships in various departments within the Agency. We are interested in recruiting motivated individuals who want to have the opportunity to enhance their undergraduate or graduate degree studies. Our Current Opportunities

St. Christopher’s, Inc. is a progressive social services agency with a 139-year tradition of helping children and families at risk.

POSITION:

  • Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinician assesses and provides therapeutic counseling to individual clients, their families and/or permanency resources. The Clinician will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide strength based, youth centered and family focused services utilizing individual and group modalities.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Performs intake and assessment services
  • Develops and implements individual treatment plans
  • Utilizes evidence-based models of treatment including DBT, CBT, TF-CBT and Collaborative Problem Solving
  • Collaborates with referring and community agencies to advocate for the needs of  youth and families
  • Assists with stabilization and crisis management
  • Maintains mandated records in compliance with OCFS, COA, and St. Christopher’s, Inc.
  • Maintains contact with resident’s families and performs case management duties as needed

EDUCATION:

  • A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of post graduate clinical experience with children or adolescents, preferably in a residential setting.

LICENSES:

  • NYS licensed or license eligible in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work

We are seeking experienced and motivated professional youth care workers to provide therapeutic care to emotionally/behaviorally troubled as well as learning disabled adolescents at our Residential Treatment Centers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • At least one year of experience working with at-risk youth
  • A driver’s license is preferred
  • Must be able to work weekends
